An error has occurred which caused the scan to be stopped Scanpst. What should I do? ?

Recently while using MS Outlook I have encountered with an issue of PST file of getting overloaded. It is not been repaired with Scanpst utility and 2GB Truncate. As per MVP suggestion I truncated the PST file to below 1.5 GB and truncated the original file down to 1.4 GB but I still got errors while running Scanpst.exe. The scanning is running properly through phase 6 of 8 but then it gets terminated with an error message – “An error has occurred which caused scan to be stopped. No change is been made to the scanned file, fatal error 80040819”. After this error I have been truncated down the PST file to 1GB but the result is same. So, is there any way that I can do to perform the forced indexing on the truncated PST file other than Scanpst, as it is not performing its job.

I work with Microsoft premiere support quite often and before I have started working I was told to use the good rule of thumb for PST file and that is not to get it over 1GB. It is because the PST file is very prone to corruption when it passes the size limit of 2GB. Scanpst.exe finds it hard to repair and recover the lost data\'s. In this situation I would recommend to add another PST file next to the original one and divide the PST files into new smaller ones so that the size of the single file should be reduced and problem should be avoided. To perform this splitting action of PST file you need to use PST File Splitter software which will effectively splits the PST file and resolves the error message for ever.
